General Information

Admission to Sessions

Admission to 2018 Joint Congress educational sessions is reserved for meeting registrants and registered members of the press only. Guests and exhibitors will not be admitted to educational sessions. In consideration of fire codes and as a courtesy to others, those without tickets will not be allowed into ticketed sessions.

Airports

The Orlando International Airport (MCO) is located approximately 12 miles / 25 minutes from the Orange County Convention Center. For more information, visit their website.

Children and Guests

The AAAAI and WAO ask delegates to refrain from taking children, spouses or guests to any educational session offered at the 2018 Joint Congress. Registered guests are welcome to relax in the Hospitality Suite or visit the Exhibit Hall; however, an adult must accompany children under the age of 18 at all times.

Committee Meetings

Committee meetings are held during the Joint Congress for the purpose of conducting AAAAI or WAO related business. Current and newly appointed members of each committee are expected to attend these meetings. A schedule of AAAAI committee meetings taking place at the 2018 Joint Congress will be included in the Program & Planner and in the Final Program.

Discounted Registration Fee for Fellows/Members from Developing Countries

The discount program for members from developing countries offers current AAAAI Fellows and members in countries designated as “low income” or “lower-middle income” by the World Bank (based on gross national income per capita) a 50% discount on registration fees. Your eligibility requirements will be verified before your registration is processed.

Eligibility Requirements:

1.    Current AAAAI Fellows and members, paid through December 2017 are eligible for this discounted registration.
2.    Only individual delegates who pre-register by Wednesday, February 7, 2018 for the Joint Congress are eligible for this discount. This discount is not available to groups or individuals who register on-site.
3.    The registering delegate must permanently reside in one of these eligible countries:

Exhibitors will provide the latest information on products and services available to physicians, researchers and allied health professionals in the field of allergy/immunology.

Please note: When you allow an exhibitor to scan your badge, you are authorizing them to contact you and send you materials via postal mail, fax and/or email. Show Management cannot be responsible for the use of your contact information once you have given it to an exhibitor.

Registration

Access to online registration will be given to AAAAI Fellows on Wednesday, September 27, 2017; to all AAAAI members on Wednesday, October 11, 2017; and to all delegates on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Exhibitor registration opens on November 1, 2017.  The deadline for early registration is Wednesday, February 7, 2018. The registration desk will be located in the Orange County Convention Center. To avoid waiting in line, please be sure to pick up your packet early. On-site registration will also be available at the desk.

Special Accessibility Needs & Dietary Requirements

If you require special arrangements in order to fully participate in the Joint Congress, please include the request at the time of your registration.

All menus served at the Joint Congress will be free of nuts, pork and shellfish. All meals will offer vegetarian options. If you have additional dietary restrictions (i.e., if you are allergic, kosher, vegan, etc.) an alternative option can be made available if requested at the time of registration. 

Transportation

The Orlando International Airport (MCO) offers various types of ground transportation for their visits. Shuttles, rental cars, taxis and buses are all available.  

Taxi service from the Orlando International Airport to the Orange County Convention Center and nearby hotels is approximately 25-30 minutes and $45, not including gratuity. Shared Shuttle service is approximately 30-50 minutes and ranges between $21-33. For more information, visit their website.

Transportation on International Drive is available via the I-Ride Trolley System. The cost for an 5-day unlimited use pass is $9 or a single use pass is $2. For more information on routes and where to buy your pass, visit their website.

Weather & Dress

The average temperature in Orlando in March is 66° F (19° C) and the average precipitation is 3.6 inches. Attire should be consistent with the professional atmosphere of the Joint Congress.
